Have you tried 20-30 per day? Everyday? That is the kind f stuff we have to deal with here. Sometimes it is just fluctuation in the voltage and that is enough to reboot the system. Are you doing a standard install? Or do you have anything different in terms of partitions or file systems?

I have retrieved my system from the edge of reinstallation. scrollkeeper was generating segfault and removing it didn't help. However, old email showed that libxml could make scrollkeeper segfault. I had a repository (debian-unofficial.org) that I'm guessing had mixed testing and stable together.

Thanks for the responses. I did try apt-get install -reinstall gnome-panel-data followed by apt-get remove gnome-panel-data This almost worked except that I'm getting seg faults with scrollkeeper. I tried removing and reinstalling scrollkeeper but the seg faults persist. I'm at a bit of a de
