I apparently play with the amd64 architecture in my dpkg architecture
list long enough to screw it up, but not fatally so far.
I have a libexpat1:amd64 files installed, but so far I have been
unsuccessful at getting it replaced with the next version of that file
in i386 format,

With the same update to testing that brought in the new kernel, about 2
days back, some other package got changed that has partly broken the
display of window contents in X.
Symptoms - In most windows (except Iceweasel) there is no scroll bar.

I do not want to mourn, just searching for an info.
Can someone tell me, what has changed in the kernel (I believe, it is since
kernel 3.4, but do not know exactly), that the boot progress hangs about 1 -
1,5 minutes, when the network is started?

ISAP&P sees them. If I insert a PCI sound card and power up, the
CS4236 gets IRQ 5 and the SoundBlaster gets zilch. Reading

Maybe nmcli is available for debian I don't know and I don't know what
results you'll get using it either. Also debian is still using iwconfig
which was supposed to have been replaced by iw a while ago.
Wireless-tools is also missing and you're not the only one that can't
get a wireless config
