Thank for your response, I want to avoid using  "netinst with non-free firmware" because that would mean a reinstall again. and I would have to install other software al over again. So now I just want to " to get this firmware package and install it  [ /lib/firmware/rt2870.bin

Please take a look at https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=949471 . I have reported it as a bug in open-infrastructure-system-build , but I don't think the problem is in this component; I think the problem is in one of the components that it installs ( maybe ca-certificates ) .

Hmmm... It looks like you're correct. I just downloaded the "netinst" and "DVD-1" unofficial firmware images and compared the two "/pool/non-free/" directories on the two ISOs. They are identical. Bottom line: You can use either the netinst or the DVD-1 versions without fear of Catch-22.
