So, you must have latest flash installed, but you can install JRE 6.0
instead of v6.1 or even you can use JRE 5. It won't create any problem.

add "noapic" option at the end of the kernel options.
reboot the machine. everything should work fine.

execute the following command as root,
# cd /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers
# gcc -shared -o nvidia_drv.so nvidia_drv.o
Then restart X. thats all. everything will be fine again. no need to
reinstall nvidia-driver again.
