Okay, I've got a strange problem here. I'm trying to build a .deb, using the devscripts tools and dpkg-dev... I get a utmp error when I try to build: < $ build no utmp entry available, using value of LOGNAME ("brad") at /usr/lib/dpkg/controllib.pl line 16.

Hi, I've got hamm system running now, and utmp seems to be completely screwed up. I've already done this: cd /var/log mv wtmp wtmp.libc5 touch wtmp cd /var/run cp /dev/null utmp and rebooted, but it's still broken. can anyone tell me where to look for clues?

I got the same problem with xemacs19. I believe it was fixed by installing libcompfaceg1. It appears there is a dependency here which is not accounted for in the control file. xemacs19 and xemacs20 both list a dependency for libcompface1 (the libc5 version) perhaps that is wrong, and they should
