Problem solved. I think what happened was that gcc must have been
upgraded between kernel rebuilds, only a minor revision which does not
show up on modinfo. It worked after a kernel rebuild followed by a k
Thanks all, I have something to look for now.

Does anybody know a simple network monitoring utility that
I can use to determine what individual processes on my
Debian Sarge system are continually using up my bandwidth?
Thanks,

Yeah, I know, I'm slowly learning things bit by bit.

And if that doesn't work, on my external modem I just plug an old set of
headphones in to the headphone jack (US Robotics V.56 modem).

Thanks Kevin, your example below worked perfectly. I didn't have a chance to
try yours Jim, because I liked the idea of not needing external packages.
Thanks again to everyone who helped out. Just marvellous ;-).

Good reference. Unfortunately, I need the line to be all
the way down the page. H...there's got to be a way.
Thanks for the quick help and a bit more info. That's a good
thing about debian-user, people all rou
using PDFLatex to compile, on Sarge with a complete
Tetex install.
Thanks a lot for your time,

me a script to do this (although that would be nice), but maybe just some
guidance as to where to start looking. I think I could use something like
find piped into a grep statement and then...that's where I get lost.

Subject: Debian Netinst: DHCP hangs, static hangs
Hi!
I want to install Debian using the Debian Installer RC-2 as Netinst. My
system: Athlon XP 2200+, MSI MS-6

moment, especially after fighting their custom, kernel-tainting install
scripts.

P.S. Sorry for the long post, just thought I'd give out all the details.

PostScript type drivers. I am certain that the correct driver is
on one of the seven CDs I have but don't know how to identify it.
Apt-get requires a specific package name. How do I identify which
package to use for this particular printer?
Thanks,
