I am in need of some help on not wanting some packages to be removed
when I try using either apt-get install (package name), or using
Synaptic...They both want to remove alot of packages that I do not want
to do a total of 512...

getting when I use synaptic to install a package...
/var/lib/dpkg/status near line 2873 package wine-utils missing version...
According to synaptic of installed packages, I do not have 'wine-utils'
installed, but at one time
I am trying to switch a HD from one computer to another, but when Grub
starts, I get a message saying ERROR 17...
Might anyone know what the ERROR 17 is, and how to correct it, so that
Grub will boot up the HD...???

Ok everyone I am back, with a problem on burning a CD...
All though I did finally burn one, but when I looked at the CD it did
not have all of the subdirectorys for which I need...
So with, that I used a new CD, now I have been having one heck of a time
trying to burn another one, using Xcdroast

with it...
I ordered a CD from http://www.Libranet.com, it comes with a full year of
Support Help, not any other vendor I know does this...
I will say this though, there CD was a snap to Install Debian, so befor
replace the Rockwell HCF
56K Data Fax modem, to have all of the same connections, or how have you
reconfigured everything with a different modem and have it work

where it says /dev/ttyS16 set_multiport port1 0x107 0xff match1 0...
Now upon rebooting it does not seem to configure these ports correctly, any

Then I save it as it was, then exited the program and then tried it again,
