Should he do a dpkg-reconfigure debconf first, then the same with ssh?

Greetings,
I've searched Google and various mailing lists to no avail, so now I come to
you all. :)

can you tell me just how serious the security hole is? I can use Pine for

Thanks for the attempt, Ian. This one's really got me scratching my head.
If I don't have an answer soon, I'll have to de-install everything, remove
all related files, and start over. I thought
Oops, sent this to -testing, my bad... :(

Hello,
I work for a small, marine surveying firm that uses the above mentioned
plotter. I am setting up a potato server to handle various tasks, among
which should be serving print jobs to the plotter via Samba.
I've been scouring the 'net and deja.com for help in configuring this
without much s
I point my browser to https://mattyt.net, Netscape replies that
/ can't be found on the server. When I point it to
https://mattyt.net/index.html, it just renders the file as plain text.
I've scoured the list archives, deja.com and www.apache-ssl.org to no
avail.
He'p me!!
TIA :)
ve access to their mail folders, which
I believe becomes possible with an IMAP-based system, correct?
Are there any issues to consider when converting from POP3 to IMAP? Any
recommendations as to which package is easiest to set up for a small
system? (fewer than 20 users) Anything else to con
do 'lynx mattyt.net/imp' from inside mattyt.net (so doma.mattyt.net
-will- resolve, just to see what happens), I get the error that you
originally got:
Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function mysql_pconnect() in
db_mysql.inc on line 73
I hope you can shed some light. TIA

says 'Looking up host doma.mattyt.net', then it
says 'Host doma.mattyt.net not found' of course, since the name doma is
only know to the LAN, it's not a routed subnet.

TIA for any help :)

Thanks, Colin. :) FYI, I was able to --force-downgrade to tar 1.12-7 from
slink and it seems to work fine.
I guess I'll just use the older version (unless there's a reason not to on
a production server) until the bug is closed.

hat's in it:
/win, /extra, /zip, /doma, and /angedon. Some are local filesystems and
some are NFS. I didn't include them originally for brevity's sake.
What I'd really like is to be able to just execute the same command that I
used to. Can I just use an older version of tar?
out, and all it did was tar up the /proc directory.
May I ask why the behavior of the --exclude command has changed? Can
someone suggest a remedy for my situation?
