Hi,
During the first installation I was asked for my domain name.
I was looking in the man pages on how to change it, but I haven't found it.
All I found was that it is apparently not done via 'dnsdomainname'.
Can somebody help please!
Many thanks in advance!

Hi,
I have a directory structure shared with Samba.
One of the directories is mounted from another harddrive.
On my Windows machine if I connect to that sharre I always see the free
space on the first harddrive,
and never know how much is still on the other...
Is there a way to overcome this?

Hi,

Hi,
I've read through several mails in this list on the topic of using
apt_preferences to have the main bulk
of the software come from testing and install some from unsteable.
I've done the setting up of the pin priorities stuff and also included all
three distributions in the sources.list.

I've tried an update on my testing (Woody) machine.
Some packages won't configure though, because Debconf isn't configured yet.
But I can't configure Debconf.

Hi,
It sound like the same or very similar problem I had with every single 2.4.x

In my case LILO started loading and after putting some dots on the screen
the PC just rebooted.
My guess is that it couldn't mount the root filesystem, allthough I'm not

Hi,
Sorry, I know this is basic stuff, but what is the correct way to apply an
Alan Cox patch?
(Or probably any patch for that matter.)
I've downloaded the 2.4.12 kernel source from kernel.org and also the
'patch-2.4.12-ac6'
from Alan's folder, which contains a file named 'pot'

Hi,
I tried to dist-upgrade to woody, but the new LILO will not boot my system
anymore.
As a precaution I had LILO set up to be able to boot the current kernel

on hda2.
After I've installed the 2.4.10 kernel

Hi,
I thought it would be a good idea to keep a copy of my installation on a

Currently LILO is installed on the MBR and boots hda1 as root.
I would like to add an entry to optionaly boot hda2 as root where my backup

I've tried to install Mozilla 0.95 on my Potato box, but I can't seem to be

It is looking for a libstdc++6.1-1.so.2, which I apparently don't have.
According to the mozilla.org site Debian 2.1 should be enough.
