going inthe right direction by mentioning /usr/bin/ecrypt...
so I did an ls /usr/bin/ecrypt*

I have to do the make/isntall approach, I installed checkinstall.
That way, after the make, you run checkinstall, which installs it so apt

You should also try
/usr/bin/lpr -P EpsonR380
this failed:
unknown printer EpsonR380
/usr/bin/lp -d EpsonR380
this worked!
Adobe needs to get with it and print to the standard CUPS system!!

I changed it to custom. With my printer selected, it showed:

with custom selected, the printer command showed:

you have to add folders/partitions/whatever to make it start. I may have to
rethink my backup plan. I may move the script to cron.weekly and plug the
drive in every weekend..

cronjob or ensure
your backup filesystem is going to be there when faubackup runs, it'll
run nightly.
thanks for the heads-up. Since mt backup external drive is NOT always plugged
in, I will disable that cron job.
