I just found out what it was (bit silly, actually):
the link of /dev/cdrom was not correct (it was hdc1
when it should be hdc)

as someone has already said, there are not linux tools to create and/or
resize a ntfs partition. Moreover, it has been said as well that you should
make a general backup of the data you can to keep. Just in case.

yes, my laptop is already registered as a machine in work's LAN. So, the
problem for me was whether I had to investigate the nfs method or the samba
one.

Iam working on a laptop P4. I sometimes bring it
to my office to work where I connect to internet using eth0.
Well, everything is ok except I cannot connect
