the network card is actually running (ifconfig) otherwise it wouldnt see

This maybe stupid... make sure u set the driver to "nvidia" instead of "nv"

you have to correct kernel source in /usr/src/linux it does make a
difference. Then after make install do modprobe NVdriver
otherwise hte driver maybe possible require 2.4.x kernel...
Right now im running the 0.97 nVidia
I dont know if this is it but ive plaed with DirectCD, it does NOT write to

I installed KDevelop to the lone welcoming of KDE 2.1 being installed... I
would liek to keep KDE and Gnome but how do i make it so i can choose
NO!!! the NVdriver does not work with 2.4.x kernels
Use XFree 4.0.x [preferable 2]
u MUST have the kernel source and headers in /usr/src/
leave the kernel header folder alone... i would rename the kernel-source*
folder to linux/ and then build the GLX package then the NVIDIA_kernel
package...

Yes Linux does support nVidia, In the menu of drivers you would pick the "nv" in
the list.. But if you plan to play Quake3 or UT or similar, You will have to go
to nVidia.com and downlaod the detonator 3 drivers for linux, and after
installing them you will have to edit your XF86Config-4 (i think
I would say use Norton Ghost, its amazing and extrmely fast, and using the

What i would do in this and for anyone is Make sure / is the first
partition (Primary) or make a small 30mb partition for /boot at the
beginning of the drive which Lilo will require for the 1024 cylinder
max. As long as the other partitions i would make / maybe 3 to 4 gb

My guess is problably the drivers. Ive never played with the drivers that come
with X 4.0.1 but Download the nVidia Detonator 3 drivers and you shouldnt have a
problem...
