When i installed kde in sid, it needs kdeaddons which is not included in sid, so i added the source of testing packages, which has the kdeaddons package of version 4:3.5.9-2, but still, sid complains that "kde: Depends: kdeaddons (>= 4:3.5.5) but it is not going to be installed", how to solve this

I have Sarge installed and would like to install kde. However, the kde package seems to be broken (as well as the gnome package). These appear to be my options 1. Install from source. But then I loose the advantage of apt-get upgrade 2. Upgrade to testing - that kde package seems to be OK.

Hi -- I have an interesting problem: (1) I had Woody / KDM / (KDE/Gnome/TWM). I decided to upgrade KDE, since the old version crashed anyhow on my own user name. (2) I deinstalled KDE (3) I upgraded Woody to Sid. (meanwhile using Gnome and KDM) (4) I installed KDE 3.0.4 through dselect.
