Nothing I do seems to get the java plugin working in iceweasel. I installed
sun-java6-plugin, confirmed that the symlinks from the iceweasel plugins
directory are there, but it doesn't appear in about:plugins.

So am I right in thinking that v6.26 is old (and thus the advice to

Pues desd ehace mucho tiempo tengo diferentes procesos como alfresco y
otros, que son aplicaciones java.
Tengo programado un scrip de backup que lanzo diariamente desde cron.d, el
caso es que cuando se lanza desde allí el script y tiene que realizar una
parada/inico del servicio java siempre

I had to set LD_LIBRARY... to remedy.
Nonetheless, libreoffice does not start any more:

OpenOffice is usually not in a modern disto like Wheezy. Instead it uses
LibreOffice. I have LibreOffice and openjdk working fine in Wheezy with
