you're at the mercy of Brother providing the
drivers which work for your printer&computer and those deb packages
typically aren't as nicely integrated into your Debian system as if
they'd been packaged by Debian.

just an idea: take a look at /var/log/cups/errors.log. Had the same problem,
here it was a missing lib. The log file might tell you more.

computer are on SAME NETWORK.

Almost all the files on this printer are for debian-buster but I’m using
bookworm with python3.11 and the laptop asus f75a with:
Host bridge: intel 3rd gen
VGA: intel 3rd gen core processor graphics
Isa bridge: intel hm76 express chipset LPC controller

With Debian 12 Gnome, I can't print PDF from evince. I opened a bug report. But
I couldn't find a solution. Any suggestions for a solution?
When I tried to print a PDF document, I got the message "Print job canceled at
printer".
