Do you have a little electric shock when you touch any metallic part of
the computer?
If not, interpret the messages Gnome gives you.
And start to ask you if it's hardware problem or not.

Ahem . . . Storm Linux *is* Debian (with extras). There is no effective
difference between Debian Potato and Storm Hail or between Debian Slink
and Storm Rain.
