Hi, Because of size issues, lots of stuff is not included in the boot-floppies distribution. You need to install the following packages: man-db - not included in the base system manpages- general system man pages kernel-source-2.2.15- y

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll keep thrashing about. I was actually trying to get my cd recognizable so I could download and burn the rest onto a CD, thence to my 'pad. I tried to modify fstab but I can't get ae to save ... and thus the subject of my original post. Thanks again.
