I'll check that HOWTO. University LAN it is (Maryland). We have
a Linux Users Group around, but they've mostly scattered for the
summer. My appreciation for this list knows no bounds.

Hi,
Because of size issues,
lots of stuff is not included in the boot-floppies distribution.
You need to install the following packages:
man-db - not included in the base system
manpages- general system man pages
kernel-source-2.2.15- y
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll keep thrashing
about. I was actually trying to get my cd recognizable
so I could download and burn the rest onto a CD,
thence to my 'pad. I tried to modify fstab but
I can't get ae to save ... and thus the subject of
my original post. Thanks again.
