On Sid I tried both j2re-1.4.2-03-linux-i586.bin
j2re-1.4.2-rc1-linux-i586-gcc3.2.bin from
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/languages/java/linux/JDK-1.4.2/i386/
They both fail.
