Hai,
I'm running Debian with a 2.0.36 kernel.
I want to upgrade my system to the following:
12..18Gb HD
DAT Tape Backup system
SCSI card for connecting both.
Witch SCSI card is best supported, and whitch DAT type is best supported?
Where can I find the doc'

Could you post your lilo.conf and your tables of partition ?

hello,
OK, in my attempt to get my system back to normal after ditching Red Hat,
I'd like to iron out some problems with LILO. First an explanation of my
system:
IDE hard disk being used as /boot, and /home
SCSI hard disk being used as /root
SCSI host adapter that is ISA, and does not work wit
Hi there,
I am not new to Linux, though, new to Debian.
Yesterday I installed the base system from floppies, everything went fine,
except I had no chance to tell the dbootstrap program the kernel
parameters for my SCSI card. It was not listed with other SCSI cards when
doing the kernel/modules
I'm having a problem installing the linux from
the cdrom because it is controlled by a adaptec scsi card (aha1505). I don't
know what i can do about it. I'm a begginer in linux and that's why I'm asking
you for your help.
If you have a solution for my problem I
he partitions I wanted.
Now I wanted to install Linux!
When booting Linux from a 3,5" FD the following line appeared:
"Failed initialization WD(Western Digital) 7000 SCSI-card"
It was that Linux didn't recognize any HDD in my system, when I tried
to make the root, swap etc. partiti
I can't boot with the rescue disk because it can't initialise my scsi
card, so I can't install debian 2.0
I downloaded the files 'linux' 'root.bin' 'resc1440.bin' 'drv1440.bin'
from debian.org in order to boot from floppies or hard disk
I can't boot with the rescue disk because it can't initialise my scsi
card (it's a tekram DC-390), so I can't install DEBIAN 2.
I downloaded the files 'linux' 'root.bin' 'resc1440.bin'
'drv1440.bin'
from debian.org in order to boo
orked fine.
My suggestion is to go and buy a SCSI-1 or 2 card that is supported and you
should be just fine. IMHO.
Erik.

If you go to the SANE ft

I ought to be useful. There may be su
good scanner and (c) my
supplier could get one easily. I have no other SCSI devices. The scanner
comes with its own SCSI card and this is the reason I havn't got it
working yet.
I have found out what sort of card it is: a DTC 3181x / 3151x, whatever
that means. I can't find out from t

Hi:
I am working out problems using an onboard Adaptec aic7888 SCSI
controller.
The machine takes 12,000,000 web hits per month and growing, and has lots
of disk space as well as 4 11.5GB IDE drives in it.
Its locking up now after I turned on verbose error reporting with timeout

I have an Iwill-SCSI-Card "SIDE2935UW" (see http://www.iwill.com.tw/).
Under DOS, Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 it works very good. Now I wont
to install the a Debian-Linux-Distribution (1.3.1), but it dosen't
works.

The BusLogic driver is faster, more reliable, and more robust than the
Adaptec driver. BusLogic supports free software.

AHA 2940UW works reliably here. Performance seems good though I

I'm doing a new install of Debian 1.3.0 and when I get to the device

None of the 4 options for SCSI controllers worked. Does anyone have any
ideas ?
