Pues la verdad no tengo idea.. La versión que yo tengo (VMware Workstation Version: 6.0.0) maneja un sidopositivo que se llama sound adapter. Lo único que se me ocurre es que cuando instalaste el vmware no se halla instalado algún paquete que maneje ese dispositivo, pero en eso no sé como
