I'm having the example same problem after my upgrade from Lenny to Squeeze
With SSL on this just gives me Internal Server Error without writing to the
logs:

hi,
after upgrading Lenny to Squeeze, ldap auth over .htacces/virtual-host.config
stops working when using SSL. I've searched hours on friday and though
packages are missing or broken. Apache2 brings only Internal Server Error,
but nothing in the error/debug logfiles. Apache asks for the

Guten nabend allerseits,

Hilft alles nichts. Der bringt hartnäckig das alte Zertifikat.
Saemtliche Pfade in allen configs verweisen auf
ssl cert file.

ssl is in the apache2 package. you need to enable it in your
sites-available config files.
for me, i did the following:

Yes, the ssl.conf and ssl.load modules are both symlinked over from
mods-available/.
Can you post the config section for the host listening on port 443?

Hi,
I've got apache2 installed, configured for all of my virtual domains
and everything is running fine. Well, everything except for SSL.
I've created my cert with 'apache2-ssl-certificate' as well as by
hand. Nothing I do ever seems to work, because as soon as I hitting
port 443, I get

Yes, the ssl.conf and ssl.load modules are both symlinked over from
mods-available/.And in case it's any help, the firefox error
message is:
The connection to MyHost has

index.php in my root directory, but not in a subdirectory ie:

I would need to see the relevant config to understand this one..

Please explain exactly what you are having problems with.
The first problem is that apache2 - ssl does not work out of the box like
it does in apache1. You need to generate certificate files etc manually,

No need to despair. All a very valuable learning experience. Actually I've

I've just been spending a lot of time trying to enable apache2 and ssl in

problems - like using a different DocumentRoot from the non-ssl apache2.
There must be an easier way than

Hi there.
Is there a howto about apache2, ssl and virtual hosts?
I can't seem to open port 443, and I'm not sure if ssl is properly
installed on my apache2. There doesn't seem to be an ssl module for
apache2.
I have 3 virtual hosts (name based) working on my test server on port
80. So far so

Je doit donc me debrouiller autrement.
