E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to
correct the problem.

Hello!
I have seen in the Internet, many people have the problem, that they get
following message:
"E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to
correct the problem."
When runing the command: 'sudo dpkg --configure -a', then first
, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a'
to correct the problem.
I then ran the dpkg, and did not know why it went to call setting up
my ndas driver and then freezed my system. I have to pull the power
off to restart it.
because the -a flag means all, so every package gets

Hi all,
I managed to seriously screw up my debian/PPC box while doing a
dist-upgrade. I have a few questions, which hopefully someone else has
had some experience with, or maybe could point me in the direction of
an answer...
1. The command dpkg --configure --pending, for example, as well

Hit http://security.debian.org stable/updates/contrib Release
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to

Press enter to continue.
Then I
I've got a broken package and whilst I've got the package working by poking
about dpkg is convinced it's still broken and regales me with a tedious
message every time I run it. How do I debug the problem?
At the moment I get this:
stoneboat:/etc/php4/apache# dpkg --configure proftpd
Setting up

That's probably a debconf error. Run with DEBCONF_DEBUG=developer to see

Hi all !
I'm using debian 2.2 and I'd like to configure the network.
When installing Potato from scratch, if I activate a network module, I'm
proposed to give the IP address and so on so that
/etc/network/interfaces, /etc/networks and /etc/resolv.conf are filled
in automatically.
However,
Just like it says. I was running apt-get update/upgrade this am ( I run
unstable) and now I can't configure any packages I install.
Like so:
Setting up xspecs (4.0.3-1) ...
Setting up xvfb (4.0.3-1) ...

# dpkg --configure -a

I think the problem is partly that you're trying to install
