I'm using debian testing/sid amd64+i386, fglrx-driver 15.7-3,
wine-development 1.7.51-1. Applications were run from 32-bit wine
prefix.
Hello. I tried installing fglrx driver for my Radeon HD 6850. It installed
and X.org ran properly. But when I try to run any windows application with
wine, it falls immediately givimg me the message:

The fglrx driver is closed source. AMD have to provide one for for each
version of X. If they haven't updated their driver, the Debian
maintainers can't provide

I don't. But I have use the `radeon' driver with compiz. Have you
tried it? It's better for your karma and won't suffer from those kinds

Agreed. Specifically, the fglrx driver. I don't have problems with nvidia,
but when fglrx-9-12 came out, it broke compiz, so I reinstalled 9-11, and

I do not remember ever getting a segmentation-fault from aticonfig.
I now run squeeze, but I believe it worked for me with lenny as well.

Thinkpad Z61p FireGL5200 graphics.
The last working version was 8.40.4-2,
which unfortunately doesn't work with linux kernel 2.6.23.x ..

Thinkpad Z61p FireGL5200 graphics.
The last working version was 8.40.4-2,
which unfortunately doesn't work with linux kernel 2.6.23.x ..
FireGL cards are still not supported with 8.43

None yet, but the latest xserver-xorg doesn't work with the fglrx
driver. Put your xserver-xorg package on hold before trying to
upgrade, and wait until AMD releases the new driver (or even better,
use the xserver-xorg-video
