Hallo,
Last night I upgraded my mixed hamm/slink/potato system to a
slink-based system.
Everything is working satisfactorily now except for the two problems
mentioned in the subject line.
1. I cannot get the compose key working again in console mode. When this
happened in my previous upgrade
I applied the diff done by Magallo at
http://master.debian.org/~mmagallo/packages/wmaker/ and that fixed the
locale problems, thanks!
Now all I have to do is figure out why netscape dies with a bus error... :(

I just upgraded an i386 box from hamm slink (a very rocky upgrade on this
box), and when starting Window Maker 0.60 which I compiled under hamm I
get an error message with an undefined reference to `_Xsetlocale'. Trying
to compile WM 0.60 does the same, giving the following output:

Hi,
after upgrading to slink am unable to work with floppy:
Operation not supported by device or something like that.
Another problem is that it seems that old way of
copying kernel (2.2.5) to another harddisk of floppy by doing
dd with previosly set root device by rdev also does not work.
I have HAMM installed. I have the slink distro files. what's the best

The instructions are in the file main/Release-Notes.
I think I added apt as a method in dselect, and then let dselect to its
thing.

apt-get dist-upgrade
There is an upgrade guide somewhere in the top level directory
structure.

Hello all:
Hamm (up to date as of about 3 months ago) update to slink using
dselect gives the errors (upon Install):
internal error - no filename at -e line 12, P chunk 14.
installation script returned error exit status 1.
Press RETURN to continue.
Anyone have a clue why I am getting this
I have recently upgraded to slink and now the following apps only display in
monochrome:
lynx 2.8.1rel.2
mutt 0.95.3i
slrn 0.9.5.3
I don't get any error mesages and the config files are set to use color.
(minicom is still in color)

It may be a bug, but I am not sure. You can fix it by using the http port.
That is, change your sources.list to
http://ftp.us.debian.org...
hope it helps...

still usuable. The only thing I am missing is the exact name of one
package...but the system will tell you what that is anyways so it's no
