My tried and true method for old dossers is
boot dos including dos cdrom drivers mscdex,
d: ( or whichever drive is your CD )
cd install
type install.txt | more ( gives some install information )
boot
( now your in the install program )
When you enter parameters you

linux (I cant remember if that is the name used on the install floppies)
so:
LILO boot: linux [parameters]
