I'm having trouble getting my Intel EtherExpress card online. Using
modconf, when I try at add the "eexpress" module, it first does an
autoprobe and returns this:
eexpress
io = 0x300
irq = 0 (IRQ value read from EEPROM)
So I assume I need to specify the irq.
Just one tiny correction. After figuring out what modconf actually
does, I've easily managed to manually install all kernel modules I
need with insmod.
I guess that the gui hasn't been updated to understand 2.4.1
directories, but the other utilities work fine.
No big deal really...
er and play around with it for a while.

y confused by one last issue. When I run modconf, it
doesn't think I have any modules available. However, the rest of the
module utilities seem to work ok. For example:
# lsmod
Module Size Used by
tulip 34064 1
# modprobe -l
/lib/modules/2.4.1/kernel/dri
use insmod
with each module, guessing the dependencies from the error msgs.
Then I upgrade modconf to reconfigure the modules; it fails to
detect my modules giving lots of error and then a empty list of
available modules.
Any hint on how to correct this?
Thanks,

I recently compiled and installed a 2.4.x kernel using the debian
kernel-installer package. Everything seems fine except that when I run modconf,
no modules appear. I was hoping to browse my modules this way, but no luck. I
should mention that my modules do work fine, just modconf seems broken
How about modconf?
I have the following modconf installed:
modconf0.2.27
My modutils is not as recent as yours:
modutils 2.3.14-3
I am running the 2.4.0-test8 kernel.

How would I know I have a problem in this regard. I did have to upgrade
modutils to the Woody version. Other
Hi there ...
It seems to me that modconf isn't compatible with the
2.4.0-testX modules. Is there a way to fix that?

Hello All,

I add more module options ? Is this down though the kernel ?
And if so what do I need add to the kernel for printer support ?

The last time I installed Potato, I was able to
install Soundblaster support using modconf. I have two
systems with SB16 and Sb AWE 32 cards in them. Which
drivers do I use to get these going and how can I
install the drivers without having to recompile the
Kernel?
Thanks in advance.
