Xfree 4.x has TWO config filesunlike the old Xfree 3.x
Make sure you are changing both files and not just the old type
XFree86.cfg

Alt-Ctrl-F1 should take you back to the first virtual console (and
Alt-Ctrl-F2 to the 2nd, etc). You should be able to log into a text
console there and edit /etc/X11/XF86Config by hand or run XF86Setup or

got my Cannon BJ-6000 working, and thought that I'd pass on what I

so others might not have to go through my experimental stage. :-)
Anyways, it seems like to get printing to work, it's how to
look likes you don't have libc6-dev package and maybe binutils. Also, you may need to try install kernel-package which is designed to compile linux kernel in debian way.
