I've learned of an effective workaround for the problem via another open bug (#565344), and this workaround probably points to the source of the problem. The workaround: go into /etc/modprobe.d/, find the file which has the options for the "radeon" module, and change "modeset=1" to "modeset=0".

Not sure if I'm being thick here (probably), but I can't get either kdm or wdm to read ~/.xsession. /etc/X11/Xsession/Xsession.options contains allow-user-xsession, and xdm works fine. Thought I'd check here before filing it as a bug against those two packages. Cheers

Numeric keypad on thinkpad a21m

Does anyone know how to enable the numeric keypad on a thinkpad? Under windows the shift+numlk combo is used to toggle the numeric keypad on and off. However, under X 4.0.3 this doesn't work, it merely makes the relevant keys unusable. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Dave
