Yes, that was a typo. udevinfo should print some
error message, like "no such entry in database".
I did not try your suggested udev config change, though.

I don't know how to reproduce it, but sometimes after
the next boot my mouse seems to be connected to
/dev/input/event2 instead of the /dev/input/event1
configured in xorg.conf (or vice versa).
If I start X without fixing xorg.conf,
Hi folks,
What is the plan for the new evdev driver wrt. the
AngleOffset option known from the old mouse drivers?
Using a Logitech Trackball this option is essential.

Hi folks,
The new evdev seems to work for me, except that the fourth
button is recognized as "button 8" (according to xev):
ButtonPress event, serial 29, synthetic NO, window 0x1a1,
root 0xdb, subw 0x0, time 1170892, (103,46), root:(110,1009),
state 0x0, button 8, same_screen YES
But
Metoo. It asks 3 times for the mouse device to use. After
the 3rd debconf menu it says that xorg.conf has been
customized, and that it won't touch it.
Good to know, But can't it check first?
Verified with xserver-xorg 6.8.2.dfsg.1-10 on amd64.

The debian X.org package doesn't include suport for the (now common in

However, X.org CVS has a very trivial patch (basically just adding

Hi folks,
Just by accident I stumbled over the evdev support in XFree86.
Is there some documentation available about this?
What I would like to have is:
My mouse (Logitech Trackman FX) has 4 buttons, but no wheel.
I would like to use button 4 as some kind of mod key.
If I press the 4th button an

there is a patch to fix this, which just returns the
file to the version from 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 or earlier.
Please fix the package with the correct file from XFree86.
