to work as I want it to: I want a compose key to be
able to type non-english characters (vowels with ' and ` accents, ^, ,
etc.) - in older X packages, 104 key US keyboard automatically made the
irght windows key the compose key. How do I get this functionality
back?

making things like Multi_key
setup-able in debconf, for the non-english countries out there. (Here
in South Africa you need things like ê and ï ...)

If this has been discussed, feel free to ignore this mail. I'll then
spend time going over the archives. Just don't have

setting it might be if I don't want to set evertyhing to fail-safe
defaults? (fail-safe defaults will drop performance a bit, I'm sure?)

I ran xemacs on a friend's machine... pressing Alt-X gives me A-x not
defined. - what is broken here? It should return M-x, so where is the
keymapping broken?
He is running unstable, usually updated every few days.
Thanks,
Hugo van der Merwe
ps. please CC to me, thanks.

in unstable. X4.1.0 prerelease packages had a forked startx.
The released X4.1.0 ships with patched upstream startx again. So all I
need is an apt-get upgrade xbase-clients and this should work again.

Hello,
I noticed some time back that with an X upgrade, startx -- :1 no
longer works. Is there some other way to start two X servers from the
command line?
TIA,

Hey, thanks a lot everyone! It's working now. (Not as fast as I had
hoped it would, but maybe the next release of the drivers...)

Sorry for wasting your time, this was nevertheless a rather peculiar
