This updated patch defines a new function "has_options" which
encapsulates the option parsing, and thus makes the code easier to

I found that an upgrade to 2.6.32.6 (with no other distribution or
configuration changes) helps enormously. I suppose that this
implicates the intel drm kernel code . . .
The only remaining issues are now occasional episodes of blank screen
on resume that may be fixed by toggling the video mode.

Same problem on an old desktop system with an "ATI Radeon 9250 5960 (AGP)".
The system worked perfectly otherwise before I switched from a GeForce 2 to
the ATI card, hoping for better driver support (*sigh*).

This problem is now fixed on my machine (when I removed the workaround
specified above). I now have version 2.4.9-2 of the package but I am
not 100% sure whether it was fixed by the new version of this
particular package or something else.

(2.6.26-1-686) on an Acer Aspire 3503 laptop: the keyboard became

The attached is the trivial patch to enable this package on armel
and armeb (where a synaptic mouse pad can be attached on USB). I have
tried this in armel and it builds fine.
