Another idea for monitoring your Declude version is putting the
%VERSION% Inserts the version of Declude that is running
into your Global file. Not only do you see in real time what you have, but you can
see which messages made the cut when you upgraded and know the upgrade went
I'm having trouble with email addresses that are IMail alias names. It
seems that spam is detected (gets flagged in the internal email headers),
but no action is taken.
As you probably know, all E-mail will be scanned by default. So if you
don't have any per-user or per-domain settings,
Is there a way to create a REDIRECT statement that will apply to all users
in a particular domain without having to list each individual user?
No. The REDIRECT statement was designed specifically as a way to make it
easier to set up per-user settings.
For what you are doing, per-domain

We're getting further off-topic for the Declude list I think.
Apologies again.

Does the DNS engine in Declude cache failed lookups?
if so what do I need to do for it to refresh, or what is the time
period
before it tries again? I could reboot, but this *is* a mail server

Thought I had IMAIL using my main 2 dns servers when in reality its using 2
of my caching servers. By the time I went to check them they had already
updated.

Thanks again

Hi folks,
Not sure if this is common knowledge, but I just heard about this and it really
digusts me.
There is a relatively new technology being used in the e-mail marketing industry
called appending. This is technology that allows a company to send a list of
customers to a service bureau
Hi all,
I'm receiving false positives from some legitimate lists I belong to.
For example, the Macromedia Partners Only newsletter fails the
HELOBOGUS and REVDNS tests. Should I bother to alert them or are these
failures typical of bulk mailing apps that will likely not be corrected?
Any input

Thank you, Scott. I'll let 'em know.

Scott,
We've seen Klez.E, Klez.H and now Bugbear falsifying from addresses. How
long before Declude will give you the option to have it use the domain name
from the headers and add abuse@ in front of the actual originating sending
mail server, rather than relying on the from address?
DNS Reports at:

I second that. I got a nasty note from a guy today about the
automated email sent from my Declude (it was the result of a
Bugbear infected email).
I could disable the warnings, but have actually had ISP's send

That wouldnt be a very good feature for innocent guys like me who would
recieve the abuse messages. The amount of traffic those types of viruses can
generate would be a nightmare and might force me to block the notifying

Hi,
well, that's what IMails Anti-Virus solution would accomplish. Imail

Nope. :)

I believe that is usually the case.

I'm still confused about this...
I have a domain, xidix.com, and it has a [EMAIL PROTECTED] account and an

Hi all,
I'm curious to know how other Declude JunkMail users are configuring their

sender blacklists worth the effort? Are commercial subscriptions (MAPS, etc.)

ps. I'm a new Declude JunkMail user. Where can I get input on popular

what some people are doing.

Employ a weight system. I use a simple system with only two
weights but others have more complex systems. This will take some
effort depending upon your particular
