The point you have missed is that just because YOU are using Imail 2006.2 does
not mean every one else is. Declude is doing exactly as it should, checking to
see if an aliases.txt file exists and if so use it.
As for the option of turning whitelisting based on the address book on or off,
I think the whole idea of whitelisting the address book should be an
option that can be turned on/off from the config file.
It is with the AUTOWHITELIST setting in the global.cfg.

Hi John,
You sound grumpy. Yes, it was stupid of me to talk about controlling the
feature that uses the web address book for whitelisting when AUTOWHITELIST
already does that. I knew about that, since I talked about it in the original
thread on this subject. It was late and I was just
Hi Ben,
I agree that Declude should detect the IMail version, but I can imagine an
argument for continuing to process the aliases.txt, where a recent conversion
has taken place, and address book conversion has not fully been completed.
So, I guess I see this as more of an IMail conversion

Couple of questions
1. When you say not working are you sure declude is not whitelisting
the email and Imail anti-spam is catching it ?
2. Have you got DEBUG log entries - these provide a lot of information
as to where Declude is looking for your .mdb (assuming it is in the
The user and alias information is in the registry. Mailing lists, address
books and mailbox content is in the \Imail\[domain name]\ folder on your
server.
I would start by updating the DNS MX record(s) to a very low refresh ahead
of time.
You export the appropriate Registry section for that

If the old box is 8.22 and the new one is 2006.2, is it safe to move
the registery and folders? are the formats the same? and all i have to
do is run the conversion on the contact/address book?

Hi,
I didn't encounter any problems when I upgraded two servers from 8.x to
2006.x just by moving the registry and folders. Mailbox and address book
formats have changed. Mailboxes are upgraded on the fly upon first use under
the new version, address books have to be manually upgraded.
