Yup,
It's a known issue. I believe it's something to do with XP by default
only looking for text type files with extensions that it knows about.
I believe there may be ways to get it to find pas files etc, although I
reckon you're better off with Google Desktop Search and Larry's Any

I specifically added the .pas file extension somewhere but I don't know
where now. I can search for text in .pas files using F3, but I don't use
the indexing service. I have found that when this is enabled, it doesn't

There is a not that should not be there regarding indexing.
it doesn't include files that have changed recently
The Delphi installer should really do this as a matter of course.
1. Starting Regedit
2. Goto HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pas
3. add a subkey called PersistentHandler
4. change its default
