After a deep investigation and many many experiments, my conclusion is
that the actual version (without my patch) seems to work well, with only

adding contextual menu item seems like a work around. the item should
not show up on all files. if this is done at a deeper level it could be
done better. for example you don't need to be super user to open a
system config file, so you should only be asked for them when you try to
save it.

In Breezy my printer, HP 3816 usb, was detected straight on. In Dapper,
it is not detected by gnome-cups-manager at all. No printers detected
and port list gives only hp no_device_found. My printer is connected.

I confirm this bug in dapper; i've got circa 100 mp3/flac/ogg files,
rhythmbox plays only first song from the playlist, the other get a small
red sign in the first column. In 'properties' dialog of every song there
is a small note: 'not negotiated' (not translated like the rest of
application).

I experience this in lower resolutions (800x600), and the lower-right
notifications seems shrink into the screen, where the second line of text is
only half visible.

I found that one of the mp3 files was causing the failure. I was able
to write a cd once the bad file was removed. the file was a 128 mpg1
layer 3 file and plays with winamp just fine. I was able to
successfully create the cd using mpg321

a few days ago.
