Which version of Ubuntu do you use? In the gnome-keybinding-properties
dialog, I can easily click on the Play/Pause line, then press the
Play/Pause key on my keyboard and configure it that way. Does that help

When I try to save a file in Firefox, a dialog comes up. There is an option to

Really I don't know if it's the same problem. I had more firefox pages
opened, a peer to peer application (started with wine) and openoffice (or
Abiword, I can't remember) opened too. I can't say more, I'm not a Linux
expert... The system asked me to search if there's a similar problem in the
bug
