I've got the same problem. I just installed the Beta, installed all
updates, then installed the nvidia driver. I restarted (the monitor
strangely flickered 3+ times) and voila -- no bottom panel until I click
the desktop.

has also changed gtkhtml3.14. So, simply backporting Evolution will not
do the trick: we also need to backport gtkhtml3.14.

I have a workaround for this bug for the time being!
Go into CompizConfig Settings Manager, enable the Window Rules plug-in,
and put "type=desktop" under "Sticky" and "Below". Once you do that,
Compiz should be working again.

Hmmm, strangely enough I sometimes DO get the ready-to-login drumroll
sound now. Sometimes, not always. Just like I sometimes have to kill
bonobo-activation-server to get Nautilus to run (bug #90923:

On my Gutsyfied (from Feisty to Gutsy beta) Thinkpad T23 Nautilus goes
to 100% CPU when the Gnome session is terminated. Best way to see this
is to switch user from A to B, terminate user B's session and go back to
A. The CPU is pegged with user B's dying Nautilus.

I'm sure this is a matter of poorly edited config files.
When Ubuntu dropped Enlightenment Sound there were lots of holes left
over and this is one of them.
Has the GDM sound been fixed yet? That should be an easy fix since the
only issue was that the sound file wasn't selected.

Same problem on a IBM/lenovo t43p with gutsy beta fully updated at 30/9:
system Beep at login though login and logout sounds are set in the
preference pane and sound test is OK (also i can hear sound from video
and mp3...).

First of all I would check wikipedia.
There you can read, you can split with ANY double cards - but: an variant is

I'm getting this error in 7.10 Beta
It is not consistent.
I can add items like Applications -> Accessories -> File Browser
and it works. The menu shows it.
But I cannot add Applications -> System Tools.
Not as root, as system admin, as terminal running "sudo alacarte".
