I just figured out a way to sortof fix the problem...
Open a terminal and type "gconf-editor" (sans quotes)... then in the
list on the left navigate to / --> desktop --> gnome --> volume_manager
--> prompts... then change the value for "camera_import_photos" to "1"

Be sure to right click and "Save Link As" when downloading the example
~/.fonts.conf file, as it is an XML file and if you simply click the
link firefox tries to render the xml, and just displays a page with "
rgb true hintfull true ", which is definitely not the
format of ~/.fonts

Sorry for flooding the list, but I think I've got a workaround for the
issue. In ~/.fonts.conf , not only should hintfull
replace hintmedium in the "hintstyle" area, but
rgb should replace none in the "rgba"
section. I've attached my .fonts.conf file as an example.

The problem with this is that you can not turn of Compiz via the Visual Effects
tab, if you are just using ccsm.
Because if you want to turn them back on, there's no way to get them back the
way they were.
You are forcing users to install simple-ccsm even if they don't want to
use it.
