Yet some more soul-seeking... it seems that the problem for me (and
possibly at least krizz) is that my "Scale" option in the "Print..." >
"Page Setup" dialog was set to 1.0 % instead of 100%. This made all the
difference... Don't know why it is like that, I can't remember ever

In order for this to be a problem, the networked file system would have
to have a ~/bin created. If someone has a ~/bin created and they're
relying on it not being added to PATH= they kinda deserve it.

I was able to fix this problem by changing the xorg.conf line:

In case anyone is still encountering this problem, I've also recently
run into it. I still haven't determined what causes the problem, but my
guess would be it chooses some unusual plugin that can decode mp3 but
can't handle seeking, rather than a more common one that can do both.

Since hardy, opening an arbitrary image file with eog (Eye of GNOME) may
bring up an initial window with an unsufficiant height.
As long as an image is smaller than eog's default window size,
everything is fine and eog displays the image centered in
that's the standard opensource driver you have on ubuntu before
installing the nvidia closed source one, just change your xorg
configuration or uninstall the nvidia one

Ok that's a crash, please follow these instuctions to have apport report
a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic
retracer.
If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Thank you for the information. I activated apport like you described
but the above-mentioned crash is not caught by apport. Apport itself
works as it caught a segfault with evince, but the segfault did not
have the same symptoms as the crash reported above (e.g., different
output in dmesg).

In my case, although I can't see the certificate, all the functionality is
working. I can check signatures, encrypt and the s/mime public certificate get
automatically imported.

This still is a bug for those users with automatic logon. Someone
logging on automatically is not generally going to want to enter a
password to get to their email. At least, if they do they should have

Was a little bit hasty. Indeed it seems like the printout is there but
with very tiny fonts, just like krizz says, see attachment. On my work
laptop it happens all the time, om my home desktop it mostly happens,
but it may start out with printing alright.

that's fine.
Probably not a security issue (since I didn't really lock the screen), but an
