I have a mp3 player which is mounted as storage device and recognized by
rhythmbox as media device (Creative MuVo V200). For the tests rhythmbox has
already been running before plugging the device in.

That is ideal and hopefully attainable. However, the current situation
is beyond unacceptable. The way it currently works is sloppy. A user
selects to enable sharing and is given an error that is inaccurate and

Some more info. I verified that my printer is working, rebooted ubuntu,
tried again (all pages, even only). Yelp did send a print job to CUPS
-- it printed pages 3, 7, and 11 before I canceled the job. (I was

In this case you would need to set the "Virtual" setting in you
xorg.conf. The capplet should tell you to do this, and in new versions
will do so, and with screen-resolution-extra installed offer to do it.

I'm facing the same issue. I'm not using exactly Ubuntu but a Debian,
which is the same core. The problem appeared after a distribution
upgrade from Sarge to Etch. The Evolution suite is now version 2.6.3.

I confirm this. Same problem on MacBook Pro Santa Rosa. Gutsy worked
perfectly - the capslock led was indicating keyboard layout, after
upgrade to Hardy the led indicated capslock key pressed (it is CTRL in
my layout) but not the layout change.
