The sidebar is by default to close to the edge. So close that no icons would
show up. When I toggled the button F9 the difference between the side bar on
and off was very little.

gtk or one of its sub-libraries (or else just nautilus/gnome-panel), so
reassigning it out of the xserver.

I see that the last comment was in December for this thread. Has anyone
figured out a fix for this yet? I am a noob to Ubuntu and currently have this

I have come across this three times in the past month in Launchpad
Answers and on the Ubuntu-Users list.
I have encouraged these users to file bug reports; however, it seems the
outcome for most of these people is to simply change to another
application (because it is the easiest course of action)
