I can report that I, too, had the same problem today on my Jaunty
install after updates done on 01/31/2010. I was able to successfully
rollback to the previous version of libglib2.0 and was able to open a
Network connection again.
The command that worked for me was
aptitude install
it got corrupted i don't think there's something we can do about that.

Just a thought. One method to solve the symptom, if not the root cause,
would be to have metacity/compiz maximise applications to two pixels
beyond the left hand edge of the screen. Alternately, and to similar
effect would be to restrict the mouse pointer to not go all the way to
the left edge,
I have just seen that F-spot successfully import avi video file (among
lot of jpg) , but then is not able to display them. So half of the work
is done from my point of view.

reproduce this reliably using rb 0.12.6 on karmic when context panel
plugin is activated and play songs in random order button selected. If

Well, noting that the function has a single argument, and that doesn't
cause any access errors when printing it, I would imagine the glib
implementation is the issue.

Crash visiting specific website

Can you tell me where log file is stored, please? I've had no luck
trying to find the thing. I looked in my home directory, and checked
for the 'hidden' folders, then I tried looking in /usr, but again no
luck.

In fact I've given it a go and it works OK. I use xrandr --fb to adjust
the screen size. I've made this 3 pixels less wide than my actual
screen resolution (1021x768) and the mouse pointer will now not go to
the left most 3 pixels of my monitor. The missing pixels show up as
black but metacity
