I have this bug on my laptop too. I am using CompizConfig and Avant
Window Navigator as recent additions to my desktop. Bug #583214 is

A question / comment - is this problem associated with the GNOME
interface? Has anyone found the problem with KDE? It seems clear that
the power manager loads early in the boot process - before the program
reads that power manager has been disabled. I have fixed my instance
of this problem by

I have just upgraded to 10.04.1 from 8.04. Now I have similar issue too.
The clock sometimes does not show up when I login after reboot. killall does
not restart the clock but re-login helps.

10.04 to 10.10 beta 3. if I expand locations and then close the
