Having struggled with this for ages, just thought I'd post the
(extremely hacky!) workaround which finally got the system bell working
normally for me, in case it's of any help to anyone. This is for Lucid.
There were two issues for me: first, the fact that the pcspkr kernel
module (when removed fr

I did not have empathy installed in lucid and when I installed it in
maverick, libdconf0 was not installed, as it is only a recommends and

I can also confirm that this bug only seems to happen when there is a
keyring saved. I have an unencrypted keyring for these users so they
don't have to enter the password each time, if I delete the keyring I
don't see this bug.

relationship by working for a few hours with AC power plugged in and now

I confirm this.
Moreover when I plug the battery, it shows battery information twice.
Also this happens while AC is plugged only.
Without AC it shows time left (although in annoying hr:min format)

I know the cause of this,
The screen lock is now done by indicator-session, as it talks directly to
upower.
I have this hack patch that always disables this:

I put green label "Launchpad" on messages, and close evolution.
Then I open evolution and messages have no label.

I cannot see any image or movement of the worms. Only the sounds of the
game can be heared (that indicates that the game starts and the worms
are moving, but it hasn't no image, only the splash screen are viewed).

Yeah, I've been meaning to come back to this bug for a while, ever since
I noticed the latest versions of libdbusmenu-glib1 and libdbusmenu-gtk1.

Because I unfortunately and by accident used a branch associated with this bug
to fix another issue it was thought that this bug was fixed. It was not, and
therefore I am now reopening the bug.
