g_volume_get_mount always return NULL (not mounted) after block device
was mounted successfully. Also gvfs-mount -m /dev/ alweys return
"Error mounting location: Operation not supported".

I also can confirm. I removed rhythmbox-ubuntuone-music-store and I
still got a seg fault until I removed rhythmbox-plugins. Now it runs.
FYI - the errors I was getting before I removed above:

I removed every repository one-by-one. Hitting RELOAD each time. And I
still get the message:
gimp:

At the moment, there are no repositories left in the "Other Software"
tab.
I still see this as bug.

(i.e. before restricted graphics driver installation) at gdm login
screen. The theme correctly changed from dark (in particular, black bar
at bottom edge) to a high contrast version

I'm noticing that particular files are more likely to do this as well
and they all seem to be Ogg Vorbis files. If I stop the file that's
playing crackly and then start it again, it usually is fine. I wonder if
this is really a GStreamer problem.

Yes, I tested it this morning and added my comment to the discussion
list.
I have two machines available to me here, one about three years old with
an Asus motherboard and nvidia USB chips, the other about six years old
with an Intel motherboard and Intel USB chips.
Taking the same DaneElec brand
In testing this for comparison purposes, I have found an indication of
what may be behind this problem:
On nvidia chipsets, this problem occurs. (In my case, nvidia's MCP61
chipset with the ohci_hcd and ehci_hcd drivers)
On Intel chipsets, this problem does not occur. (Test case is Intel
Corpor
There is an important distinction that needs to be raised here:
When you just unmount the drive, the light on the drive stays on,
indicating that it might still be connected.
When you "Safely Unmount Drive," the light goes out, clearly indicating
that it is no longer at risk for removal.
