the desktop', desktop is fine. Interestingly, turning that option back

I just incrementally updated between alpha-2 (when RB worked) and
alpha-3 (when it did not) and tracked the breakage down to d-conf.
dconf-gsettings-backend 0.12.1-2: edit→preferences functions correctly.
dconf-gsettings-backend 0.13.4-0ubunu1: crash as in this bug.
