manager tool seemed to resolve the issue currious that it seems to write
normally with disk caching on but not disabled. I guess there is a fault

For me, the screen blanks, then the monitor goes into low-power mode
when it's supposed to. But then, at some point later (I haven't
pinpointed exactly when), the monitor comes out of powersave mode, and
stays on. The screen stays blanked, but the monitor is on full-power

This bug does also prevent starting the gnome fallback session on LTSP thin
clients. The only way I got it to start is by forcing "DRI False" in xorg.conf.
X will then not even try to use acceleration.
