I have a Dell laptop that have an option in BIOS to always use the NVIDIA GPU
instead of Intel/NVIDIA, and that the option I keep selected.
In the login screen, the gear shows "Ubuntu" and "Ubuntu on Wayland" options,
so I think it's ok for non-hybrid machines until we fix all the problems.

My system doesn't have Nvidia graphics. I upgraded my gdm3 to
42.0-1ubuntu7 , restarted my computer and verified that my default
session is still Ubuntu and there is an Ubuntu on Xorg login option.
This verifies Test Case 2.
I don't think that comment 39 is sufficient to block this bug fix so I'm
I submitted an upstream gnome-settings-daemon issue. Unless I get any
useful response to that within a couple of days, I'll proceed with the

I tried out Ubuntu 22.04 today, and the app icons in the application

figure out how). I think it would be better if the app icons were

I tried out Ubuntu 22.04 today, and I came across the same issue. The
app icons in the app grid are very small and the app names very short (I
know the full name is shown when you hover over an app icon, but I don't
think that makes this issue less important). I'm going to attach a
screenshot too.

Public bug reported:
I removed xdg-desktop-portal because I use Xorg, don't use any snaps or
flatpaks and GTK file open dialog is better than portal one.
But GTK file open dialog makes Chrome/Brave freeze after closing it.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Chrome or Brave
2. Remove xdg-desktop-port
~vanvugt could you or somebody else please back-port that small patch to
20.04 (Gnome Shell 3.36)? Upstream is not going to do it.
I can help to test a proposed package, since I can reliably reproduce it
(every time on resume after suspend).
Thank you.
