I'm running Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat (10.10) installed on a USB pendrive.
I experience this problem consistently, that is, I cannot get Ubuntu to
prompt for entering a password after resuming a locked screen in any
way.
By default the installation comes with a default user account 'ubuntu'

the key file is lost on disk. If you still have access to the file, you

This problem arose today with Nautilus on the 9.04 version.
It appears to have been caused by an inkscape svg file linked to several
imbedded bitmaps.
It started when I moved the images into a new subdirectory, separating them
from the svg file.
Moving all the files back together in original
10.04 Goes into hybernation ( Fn + F4 ) screen slowly goes white then black,
backlight stays on moon' led is on but it will not return from hybernation (
Fn )... i.e. must be powered down and restarted.
9.10 was perfect in this respect.

I downloaded the opera browser to test (I rather prefer an open source
browser) from the opera-website in Firefox.
I chose open with GDebi Package installer for the
opera_10.10.4742.gcc4.qt3_i386.deb file, and not save file..

Keycode 22, which is backspace, simply isn't defined. xmodmap -pk
reports no definition, and xev accordingly reports it as NoSymbol. A
temporary workaround is this:
xmodmap -e keycode 22 = BackSpace
But of course that gets lost

hi,
after a ubdate from ubuntu edgy to the latest (edgy) version, i could
not login into gnome. i also created a new user which could also not
login.
After entering username and password in gdm, it tries to start gnome.
But i can only see a blank

new addressbooks and all works fine now. :-)
