No, it seems that it was the boot manager that created all this situation.
Now in edgy, now that a different boot manager is installed, i haven't faced
that problem...

your system and turns all services on (deamons, drivers, file systems
etc...) and then directs you to the log-in screen where you type you username
and password and the log-in to

Even I just can't get it though that a single package made the whole system
malfunction, it's pretty easy to understand it. Just consider that linux is a
block of systems functioning together depending on each other. One helping
another. One
No with me it is not always it is sometimes.
About 2 out of 5 time I boot up my PC.

Hi, I have been using Ubuntu 6.06 LTS for a long time.
I have to admit that it is a really good linux distro except one thing that
keeps annoying me all the time.
When I boot my system and select ubuntu-. to boot, after the Ubuntu Logo
I think I already said which version I use (look closely, Ubuntu 6.06 [Dapper
Drake] LTS).
Anyway, the black screen appears after the loading of the necessary files
completes.
You know after the Ubuntu Logo dissappears.
In other words sometimes I get a black screen, where I can do nothing,
Well actually I mean the splash screen.
And I get the black screen before logging.
Actually I can't even log in. The login screen doesn't appear at all...
(When that's happen does pressing ctrl-alt-f1 and then ctrl-alt-f7 fixes the
issue?)
